Denmark is a part of Scandinavia and is connected with the rest of mainland Europe at its southern borders.
Dansk Varmblod is Denmark’s largest horse breeding federation with approx. 6,000 members. Throughout the year many member activities, tests, and selections are arranged. Only the best horses are approved for breeding. In this way progress and quality are guaranteed.

The dressage horse
of the century is a Dansk Varmblod
In 1999 Marzog was selected by an international jury as ”The best dressage
horse of the century”. He was helped to this honourable title by his
outstanding rider Mrs Anne Grethe Törnblad. The couple added grace and lightness to the dressage sport and dominated the international dressage arena during the mid-1980s.

Danish horse breeders are highly educated experts
Danes have been breeding horses for centuries and have always been among the best in the world.
This tradition and know-how continue in Dansk Varmblod. Danish horse
breeders are very knowledgeable, and Dansk Varmblod constantly provides them with opportunities to update their know-how through genetic evaluations, careful foal- and mare inspections, severe selections with riding tests for both mares and stallions as well as breeders' educational courses. All this adds to increase the high quality of the Danish Warmblood horses.

Beauty alone is not enough
Dansk Varmblod values quality higher than quantity. To prove real ability under the saddle both stallions, mares, and geldings are rigorously tested. They have to have a good temperament and be strong and intelligent riding horses as well. Only the best stallions are approved as sires of the future.
Dansk Varmblod abroad
Many breeders of Danish Warmblood horses abroad take them to Denmark
so that they can be graded and tested here.
At regular intervals Dansk Varmblod also visits England and the United
States to grade mares and stallions, make ability tests, inspect foals and mirror Danish Warmbloods to a world-wide market.
Dansk Varmblod has many foreign members
